Rebuilding a “destroyed” website against the clock
The brief
Each contestant received a broken interior-design website, “destroyed” on purpose: misaligned sections, random spacing and a pile of raw assets. The task was to rebuild it into a clear, usable page under time pressure.
Paper before Figma
With the clock running, the fastest thing was not to open Figma. I spent the first minutes on paper, deciding the order of the page: navigation, hero, three feature cards, a product grid, an inspiration gallery and the footer. Once the structure was fixed, every minute in Figma went into detail instead of rearranging.
The result
The redesign won second place in UI/UX Contest V5 at ASU’s Faculty of Information Technology. The lesson I took away: structure is the fastest design tool you have.
